8/5 Refuge Day: Prep Edition

The countdown to the Refuge Outdoor Festival is on. Refuge Day Prep Edition is designed to support people at all levels of outdoor engagement prepare for their adventures including Refuge Fest.

6:00- 8:45PM Resource Market

  • Learn about sleeping bag fittings & caring for down w/ Feathered Friends
  • Connect with Washington Trails Association on local hiking and trail projects
  • Chat with Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust about land conservation and stewardship.
  • Seattle Audubon will get you ready for bird watching with binocular demos
  • Work with REI reps to schedule your own outdoor shopping experience
  • Chat with the Refuge Fest team about gear support for the festival

6:30- 7:30PM Introduction to Bike Touring

Learn how to safely plan and execute an overnight bike trip in a supportive and affirming environment. Join Roxy Robles from Friends on Bikes for this exciting session. In collaboration with Asian Bike Club (ABC), Friends on Bikes will be leading a bike touring ride to Refuge Fest! More details to be provided.

7:45- 8:30PM Introduction to Camping

Join REI to learn what you need to take your first (or second or third) camping trip. We will cover the basics including: how to be warm, dry and comfortable camping, gear and equipment necessities, ideas for fun activities, and more. Camping is a fun and affordable way to take a vacation – let REI help you get outdoors! No experience necessary!
