OPERATIONS MANAGER

JOB TITLE: Operations Manager (20 hours/ week; 6-month contract)

REPORTS TO: Managing Director

COMPENSATION: $30-35/hour

BACKGROUND

Golden Bricks Events (GBE) is an event production company addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoors through consulting, event management, and creating signature events. Our signature events include: Refuge Outdoor Festival, a 3-day outdoor event; Sundaes Outside: A Celebration of Black Folks, a showcase celebrating the rich contributions of Black folks & nature; and Refuge Day, a shorter version of our signature full festival featuring seasonal outdoor-focused workshops, demos, and performances. All are welcome- Black, Indigenous, People Of Color and allies. 

DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will support the streamlined backend logistics and operation  of the GBE team. The applicant will track and complete company KPIs, document all internal processes and procedures, and measure and improve team efficiency. The applicant must have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively. 

This role is hybrid, with the majority of the position being virtual and the remainder requiring onsite support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Organizational process development and refinement
  • Research and implement efficiency measures
  • Develop and provide team trainings
  • Assist in hiring and oversight of contractors
  • Task and project management
  • Report creation and presentation
  • Live & virtual event support and/or management
  • Participate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice training opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS

Requires knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management, experience with process creation and implementation, familiarity with business and financial principles, and previous work with BIPOC & 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

The ideal candidate should have task management, organization, systems development, communication, leadership, contractor management, and team-building skills. A passion for outdoor recreation, social justice, and diversity are pluses.  Self-sufficiency, adaptation/flexibility, creative problem-solving, and customer management is highly valued.
